panda pack

out for another walk with the dogs...

more swimming (in the tub)

swim pics

After she got DRENCHED by the side of the little pool (it's supposed to be a jacuzzi but the jets don't work and right now it's not heated), I got her swim stuff and we got in the big pool.
She has finally started blowing bubbles in the water instead of DRINKING it! (in the bath too!) My girl really loves to swim!
I was worried it would be too cold to swim, but once we got all the way in the water, it wasn't too cold. I worried also that get OUT would be a problem, but AB didn't seem to mind and she got right into a warm tub afterward.

pool party (perhaps the last of the year!)

The weather is cooling off, which is really nice, but it means we're coming to the end of the pool party season. The Marines put on a party today and quite a few people came out for it. It kind of looked like it was going to rain all day, but we had nice weather and even almost a little bit of sun.
After our trip to the Panda Base, I made some macaroni and cheese to bring to the BBQ, and then we went downstairs to join the party. AB LOVED the corn on the cob, and is signing "corn" in one of these pics.

panda girl

Here's AB with her panda pals. The little ones make a big smooching sound and say "I love you!" when you pull them apart (and they pull back together).

more panda pics

We went to see the pandas this morning. They were SO active that it was not a good time to get a photo WITH them, so instead, here are the photos OF them. The little ones that look like raccoons are Red Pandas. The panda in the tree is Jing-Jing, one of the Olympic mascots for 2008. The three who were wrestling are all two years old, two of them are twins.

AB had a great time, pointing at the pandas, signing "panda," saying "panda is sleeping," pushing the stroller (hers or her friend's), and running around. On the way back to the car, she said "mama, hold you" and I picked her up out of the stroller, and she fell asleep in my arms! I managed to shop the souvenir shops while she slept, and she woke up right when it was time to put her in the car (great timing!). She didn't nap the rest of the day and went to sleep REALLY early!
