15/365 - Birthday Party! Pump it Up!

Today the girls had their joint birthday party - three weeks after A's 6th and three weeks before C's 4th! (Also happens to be Uncle Eric's birthday, and we had hoped he'd join us for the party!) After last year's experience with one beautiful and sunny park birthday party and one frantically rescheduled in our house due to torrential rain, I decided to go with the joint party - and it worked out well, as this year we had torrential rain the whole week of A's birthday!

We had several friends from the neighborhood, school, work, and a couple of fabulous cousins come out to Pump It Up to celebrate with us! Everyone had a great time and amazingly I don't think there were any bonked noggins!

The girls were both very excited about their cakes and predictably, the boys all wanted Harry Potter cake and the girls wanted Rapunzel, so it worked out great!

AB's 6th birthday!

It occurred to me this evening that AB was already 6, because of
China's time zone, and since she has been so excited to turn 6, I told
her so. She yelled it to Li Ayi and Li Ayi ran out to bring her her
present!

Happy Belated Birthday, AngelBaby!

Aunt Kandice and Aunt Joanne were both unable to come to AB's third birthday dinner, so when they both had a free night, they wanted to take her out for a belated birthday celebration!

AB's third birthday party!

Today we celebrated AngelBaby's third birthday with her friends. We used the community center so there would be more room to run around and no doggies would get freaked out. We blew up a bazillion balloons and also got a bunch of helium balloons. (I had ordered them from the States, and found some at the local market, but finding helium was quite a chore! Finally, it worked out, and they even delivered them the day of the party. Yippee!) We had pizza, mac n cheese, cake, cupcakes, and ice cream. Sounds like junk food galore, but the pizza was whole wheat crust, the mac n cheese homemade from scratch, and there was juice and milk to drink!

the idea was to give each kid a balloon, but they got so hopelessly entangled that we scrapped that idea...

AB (and everyone else) had a little cold, so we did candles on a cupcake instead of having her blow all over the big cake
