After lunch, we took a taxi to Siam Park. It was kind of surreal - it looked completely abandoned at first - but I followed the signs to the water park and eventually got there. AB fell asleep in the taxi, so once we got to the water park, I just sat in a chair until she woke up. The water park was beautiful and had several different pools, slides, and a wave pool. We couldn't do the slides because I still couldn't get water in my eyes after LASIK, but we went in the "river" pool (a circular pool around an island) and the wave pool. I was afraid that the wave pool might be a "big wave" pool like the one I remember from Atlantis in Florida, but it was a very gentle pool, just like being on a calm beach! The water was so clear and really warm - it was wonderful. AB had a BLAST playing in the waves and on the slide! :) Isn't this place beautiful? and we had it almost all to ourselves! little water on the camera casing here... but AB loved the waterfall! cutie pie at the pool yay, I love swimming! such joy! now we're in the wave pool! happy happy! this pool is great! my little swimmer! she loves to float on her back!
she loved this little fountain at the top of the stairs/slide thing see what I mean? she liked to slide down on her belly
very careful on the stairs! ready? slide... SPLASH!

cutie pie walking on the breakwater on her first merry go round, in one of the buggies, dancing to the music!
she was wary of the horses would only sit on it after it stopped moving! new baby buggy!
Today we had lunch with our friend Carl who used to live in Chengdu. He works at the Four Seasons hotel and didn't have any other time to see us, so we went to meet him for lunch there. We had to wait a little while for Carl to get free, so AB climbed up and down and up and down and up and down the stairs... There were some hotel guests taking pics on the stairs, and AB wanted me to take her pic too. Cutie pie! after lunch, "Uncle" took AB to look at the fish! waving to the camera, first Carl now AB the focus of AngelBaby's attention she loves to watch those fish! AB and me reaching for the fish she's mesmerized!
Just as you exit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, you walk into the grounds of the Grand Palace, which was amazing and beautiful and had gorgeous grass and trees... The inside is not open to the public, other than a few rooms from the outside that house a weapons museum. We had fun just walking through the grounds though, and AB made some friends, saying "sawadee ka" to them and putting her hands together in the Thai greeting! She also tried to befriend one of the guards - that was the cutest thing! She is not sunburned - she is just HOT. I got her a sun hat and a Hello Kitty fan, and put SPF 30 and SPF 50 sunscreen on her, and her face got so red I was worried that we had spent too much time outside. Once we cooled off, she was back to normal. After the Grand Palace, we took the river boat back to the Skytrain station and went to a shopping mall to have a nice air-conditioned dinner and see what we could find to spend money on. :) our first pics together after a WEEK in Bangkok! :) fish-eye lens baby pics muggin' for the camera don't you love that FACE! thank goodness for apple juice (and water) - it was HOT! the amazing Grand Palace behind us keeping off the lawn :) HOW CUTE is this!!! (Other random people were also snapping away) she actually reached up and tried to take his hand to get up on the block, but he didn't help. Sooo cute! AngelBaby doing "sawadee ka" (Thai greeting)
