we went to Zoe's for lunch... someone was being pretty silly!
after lunch, Tio Jorge went with us to the sporting goods store, and he got roller blades, and we got a new bike for AB! When we got back, they just had to try them out!

Tonight we took our first bike ride! It took a lot of preparation - AB was NOT interested in the bike seat for several days! Finally, I took it off the bike and let her sit in it, strapped her in and ran around the house carrying her in it. She got more comfortable, and tonight, when I asked if she wanted to go for a ride, she said yes! We had a great time, and our bike didn't even get stolen!
It probably didn't hurt that I also tacked on the offer of going to Peter's for dinner. :) Here we are, all bundled up and ready to go!
We ran into some friends at Peter's (it's like the Cheers of Chengdu). Here's AB getting help from Uncle Chris with the hot chicken.
Poor kid really has a bad cold. :(

Mama is off for three days for China's national day holiday, so we had hoped to get back to People's Park or some other place in Chengdu that would have fun rides for AB. So far, the weather hasn't been too cooperative, raining almost every day! This morning it was overcast, but not rainy or too windy, so out we went with the "bike" and the camera!
gotta get all this protective gear on... (No, I don't really think she's going to fall off a tricycle - I just want her to get used to wearing a helmet when she rides bikes! The rest of the stuff is optional, in my opinion, but she didn't resist it, so on it went!)
