tomorrow is a big day

One year ago today, I flew to Kunming to prepare for the biggest and best day of my life. Some friends came out with us for lunch and ice cream to celebrate the occasion (the day I met AB - not the flight to Kunming). Our anniversary together is actually tomorrow, but today being Sunday, it was easier to get people together. :) We'll be celebrating all week - tomorrow is one year since I first met AB and took custody of her (Family Day), and Tuesday 8/15 is her adoption day. Some of our friends who would like to celebrate with us are out of town right now, so we'll be celebrating through the end of the week! :) Every day with AB is a reason to celebrate, anyway! :)

post popsicle splashtime

No surprise to anyone that after that popsicle, she was in need of a bath. This baby really loves the water - she still amazes me every day with how comfortable and happy she is, even splashing and getting water all over her head and face! And she LOVES the dogs - she was so happy when Cocoa came in to hang out while she splashed.

it's HOT outside!

It is still miserably hot and humid here... it was so steamy today, we played mostly inside and waited until after 7pm to go out and swing. (I know it's hotter with a hat on, but the hat helps keep the mosquitos off her head!) We just played on the swing and playground for a little while, then had to take a popsicle break. AB had a great time until we got back inside and I took the popsicle away from the front door into the kitchen. She wasn't too happy with me - but luckily it doesn't take too long to get her into the high chair. What a drippy mess!
