Hailuogou

We drove up to Hailuogou (Glacier park) yesterday - what should have been a 4-5 hour drive took us over 6 because of fog and terrible visibility... My friends Gary and Chris are in town for the Marine Ball this weekend, so we had a good excuse for a road trip. The glacier at Hailuogou is next to one of the biggest mountains in the world (11th biggest, I think?) but it was not clear enough to see it... I thought the glacier was pretty cool by itself, but apparently seeing the mountain looming over it is waaaay better. Maybe we'll make the trip again at some point - there are also hot springs there that we didn't have time to visit.
yep, those are people down on the glacier. They walked from the entrance point, rather than taking the cable car up to a different part of the glacier as we did.

see some blue sky peeking through!
glacier is pretty amazing

two cameras pointed at us at once
what a face!

I could not convince her to take that finger out of her mouth!
these guys offer to carry people onto the glacier - they started at $100 (USD) and went down to RMB 20 (less than $3)
